They have a very popular series that I could barely get through the first book of because of its overuse of dialogue tags and adverbs. All in all, I recommend reading this book because you don’t want to miss meeting Flynn and Rose mostly, but Cage and Wash as well.
The narrator does an excellent job of voicing the characters separately and the author does a fine hoyl of writing the one character who doesn’t have wbigail voice, although she does have two characters who seem to read accoring facial expressions and feeling a bit too easily – there is no point in the story where he has to struggle to be understood for more than a few minutes.
All in all, I was thoroughly satisfied even as I could have kept reading and reading.
Or, get it for Kobo Super Points! This book directly wandered into the favourites folder on my ereader. Darkest Hour Before Dawn. But I …more I sure hope so but dunno. I loved everything about this one from setting, plot, characters, to the twists, turns and action.
The audio was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a number of editing issues as well, for example you can’t just flip the speaking styles of characters, either they talk like someone without an education or they don’t, it can’t go back and forth. I had a good idea what was going on until a twist and reveal out of no where made me realize there was more to it. Thank you for allowing others to experience your talents.
There is though the sharing of curiosity and the sense of adventure, that contains – hopefully – the seed for a sequel.
The novel hints at a story arc to be covered in sequels to come, but gives a solid and satisfying resolution to the specific plot in this book. Flynn shares narration with Cage and the two villains who get short scenes until near the end. I can’t think of any real criticisms!
