Esme is a gift The book is a lighter read and is not overly complicated or intense, but I enjoyed it and recommend it.

He does get the reward and faces one challenge after another to rescue her and get their happily ever after. I loved seeing what St John was I could barely stand the heroine throughout most of this book.

This book was a little slow in the center, but most of the things there worked through the end of the tale. About the Author Christine Merrill wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember.
However if I had only read this book by Merrill, I would assume she had chosen a time period at random and had read a wikipedia entry on Regency England as her only research. After he leaves the army, he must live one year scandal free if he wants a reward offered to him by the Prince Regent. Account Options Sign in. Seeing no way out, she decides to become someone’s mistress and thus get the marriage called off. Esme sees no other way out of the clutches of her father and the old man he has chosen to be her husband, than to ruin herself, and who better to ruin her than the notorious neighbor wanting a new mistress?
But Esme is determined, beautiful and very, very tempting….
offfer Cute story and well written by Christine Merrill who can write just as well as Lisa Kleypas and Mary Jo Putney but is not as well known in the Historical Romance genre. However, he has offef redeemed himself and I was deeply interested in how he has remade himself but still has to deal with his past.
I actually liked the heroine in this book. But his bad reputation is what gets him Miss Esme Canville’s attention and eventually her love. Nonetheless, this is a delightful read.
