The author has written a story of the world as he wants it to be; a world without villains; a world where good camd always do and say the right thing and bad people sooner or later come around and see the error of their ways. I was excited to read this book because it came grrierii recomended. Much more in Wrapped in Rain than in this book, but this book is still close to home I learned so much about the physical heart, and I loved the passionate main character and the little girl.
What Martin does best is scene building. The book is bogged down by acnd that resemble brick walls slathered with text which have no purpose other than reciting the Sears catalog’s chapter on boat-building hardware, or the most boring bits of the New England Journal of Medicine.
I really like the fact that he is from this part of Florida, and his books incorporate places I am familiar with.
In particular, two awful scenes that I skimmed over and saw enough to require some serious brain bleach! A bit predictable but a compelling read nonetheless.
