It seems that denial and impossibility are overwhelming, but Rosie and Alex are faced with the decision of giving up everything for love, or living in silence for the rest of their separate lives. I felt this was a shame as I would have liked to have read a bit more about their lives when they were together, since that was what I had been hoping and waiting for the entire time while I was reading the book!
