I don’t want to spoil anything by sharing any of the moments that are so perfect in the story, but I really, REALLY want to encourage you to read this sweet children’s book if you haven’t yet. The relationship between Mr Tom and Will is beautiful. The storyline is quite saddening but yet so touching and powerful at capturing emotion in the reader. At first, William thinks this will be a good thing, as he can be helpful to his mother. You can find out more here.
Rearranging my books I came across this and couldn’t resist re reading it. Books by Michelle Magorian. I feel that the author succeeds in making the characters come to life in the book. It does the book justice.
Goodnight Mister Tom
At first, he is terrified of everything, of the country sounds and sights, even of Mr. Over time, Willie flourishes with Tom’s sensitive care and Tom finds new purpose in his life.
As William is changed by Tom, so is Tom transformed by William’s presence in his home. She was literally that annoying. A novel full of adventures in the countryside with friends, the spirit of helping each other in times of trouble, cozy nights next to the fire with books and dialogue with humour and warmth.

Not agreeing that this is the best thing for William, Mr. Ein schicksalshaftes Treffen, wie sich sehr bald herausstellen wird. It would be in bad taste altogether to be too graphic or dramatic. He started to read, he was great, he started to act, he was great, he started to draw, he was great… Everyone loved him, despite his complete lack of personality. It’s a children’s book set in the Second World War and several bad things happen and, perhaps more importantly for a children’s novel, they happen to good people.
What makes this story work so well though is relationship. So I was looking for something to read next and this grabbed my eye for a re-read. Like Willie did at his birthday, but in a less annoying way.
I remember reading this book whilst I was at primary school and again at secondary school when I developed a keen interest in history. He experiences newfound luxuries, like a bed and full meals.
Tom may not be perfectly written and it might border on sappy and cliche at times but it is really a moving story.
An epilogue that made me feel warm goosnight fuzzy. Through learning to ride it, William realises that Zach lives on inside him and he will never forget his wonderful companion that Zach was. A small, nervous boy called Willie Beech enters Tom’s life and home as an evacuee from war-torn London.

These are dreadful goodnigyt, and yet not presented in such a way that michdlle will disturb young readers, but enough is said to make this book appeal to an adult reader as well.
A childhood favourite that I still find incredibly moving. Years 5 and 6 at my school shared the same classroom and same materials. It made me feel mochelle to know that even when we’re at the worst places in our lives that there are still possibilities. With other sick and traumatized children who might not want to hear screaming. The two are thrown together when Willie arrives at Mr.

Appalled by what he sees that first day, Mr. It’s about a time long mistsr during World War 2 in England. There are still good people like Mr. They both blossom as they learn to love and encourage each other.
Not sure I would recommend it to very young or sensitive children. There could easily be a child afraid of dogs, possibly put into hospital because of a dog attack.
