All in all, I liked the majority of these stories, but re this connection I mentioned earlier, I’m still a little puzzled.

Price’s introductions to each hxstur are excellent and worth the price of admission alone, although they are best read after each story as he has a nasty habit of giving the game away. Cthulhu’s Dark Cults David Conyers.

As with many of the Chaosium anthology books the selected stories can be a little hit or miss, but I was glad to find that this contained more of the former rather than the latter. While I still enjoy Lovecraft’s tale as well, the stories derived from his use of Chambers’s work are not as interesting or as strong as the stories earlier in this volume.

This book has an interesting selection of stories, but anyone wanting to read it needs to know that the focus is H. My library Help Advanced Book Search. This extends as far as some Yuggoth stories which are indirectly tied to the King in Yellow, Hastur etc by virtue of Lovecraft’s interweaving. InLovecraft’s mother was deteriorating, mentally and physically, and was admitted to Butler Hospital. As a Weird Fiction collection it is quite strong, as a “Mythos” collection it is, at best, average.
