Not that it HAS a cover per se. I unapologetically love Arthurian romance and it was great to read the “origin” story of Lancelot. Of course the very “knightly” things Lancelot does can see a little weird- like agreeing to return to his prisoner after the tournament and actually fulfilling that promise- but that is part of what makes this story just a good knight story.
Eventually, the queen allows herself to be ruled by Reason, not Joy, so she is capable of suppressing her own desires. Nevertheless, this book is definite While this felt like a typically medieval story with some flaws that the modern critic may find problematic, I found it remarkably enjoyable.
